Step Wise Procedure To Download Microsoft SQL Server 2014…

Microsoft SQL server is a server which is used to do operations on databases. Today let us see the step by step process to install Microsoft SQL server 2014.

System Requirements :

This SQL server is supported only for Windows 10,  8.1, 8, 7, 7 service pack 1, Windows server 2008, 2012, 2012 R2, 2008 R2 SP1. Processor requirements are Intel- minimum speed 1 GHz or fast processor. RAM requirement is min 512 MB. Hard disk Space of 4.2 GB.  

Process to install :

Step 1: First log on to your windows with your administrative rights.  Now go to google search bar and type “Download Microsoft SQL Server 2014”. There you can see the official link of Microsoft for SQL server 2014. Click on the link.

Step 2: Click on the Download button there you can see some file names which are mentioned with there size. Now for the system holders of 32 bit select the first check box and the system holders of 64 bits select the second check box.

Step 3: After clicking on “Next” it starts downloading your file. It may take some time. After completion of downloading click on the downloaded file on your system so, that it starts extracting the files to the downloads folder.

Step 4: After completion of extraction the “SQL Server Installation Center” will open automatically. If it was not open automatically open the abstracted folder which is at your downloads folder and double click on “Setup” application.

Step 5: Click on the first option that is on “New SQL Server…. ” then it gives the licence window click on “I accept” check box. second check box is not mandatory and click on “Next“.

Step 6: After clicking on Next you can see “Feature Selection” tab. Here you can change the root directory path, share feature directory path. It is not mandatory to change as you like. Click on “Next“.

Step 7: Now you will see “Instance Configuration” here you can change Instance name and id and click on “Next“.

Step 8: Now you can see “Service Configuration” here you can change the Account name and Startup type of a service and click “Next“.

Step 9: Now we are in “Database Engine Configuration” here click on “Mixed mode” radio button so that the password fields get enable and give a complex password and you can also add users here. click on “Next“.

Step 10:  “Installation Progress” will take more than 10 mins wait for some time then after completion of progress click on “Next“. Now the installation was completed. Step 11: You can see the installed server by going to the windows and clicking on “SQL Server Configuration Manager” click on SQL Server Services which will be at left of your monitor screen. click on it there by you can confirm that SQL server is running successfully on your computer.
